About Us

At Grounded Hope, we believe that people thrive when connected to nature and that nature can thrive under the thoughtful care of people. We are permaculture designers who love to work with you to help you use your land and resources for good. Whether it’s through consulting or landscape design, we believe that together we can bring hope to our ecosystems and our communities.

Paul has 8 years of farming experience, a degree in Agricultural and Bio-Resource Engineering, and 13 years of project management and coaching experience in the non-profit sector. His passion for food security and social justice combined with his love for design led him to obtain his Permaculture Design Certificate in 2020. He launched Grounded Hope with the vision of working with others to help them use their land and resources to care for creation and community.

Amanda, similarly, has a passion for social justice and a love for nature. She enjoys creating simple and beautiful spaces as well as inspiring others to pursue wholeness.

When we aren’t designing landscapes, you can find us outside with our kids, exploring the woods and rivers nearby and celebrating the God who created it all.

Location and Land Acknowledgement

Grounded Hope is located in Guelph, Ontario. If are you in the vicinity, we would enjoy connecting on your property in person. If you live further than is reasonable to visit in a day, either elsewhere in Canada or internationally, we are more than happy to offer our services through virtual means.

As Guelph residents, we acknowledge that we are situated on the ancestral land of the Attawandaron people and the treaty land of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We recognize the significance of the Dish with One Spoon Covenant to this area as well as our responsibility to the land and future generations. We seek relationships of honour and respect with our First Nations, Inuit, and Metis neighbours.
